Spring Colors

Get ready for spring as it unravels its new colors. It’s all about bright, cherry colors, and trying something new and different. One of the most popular colors this season will be that bright, crisp white. It’s a color of innocence, of new beginnings, and purity. White looks great on everyone because it’s a very chic and classy color. So pick a crisp white skirt this spring with a colored top and you’ll look absolutely fabulous!
Yellow is also in surprisingly. We don’t see a lot of yellow colors around because it’s never really the center of attention. Yellow represents sunshine and happiness, so why not display those things with a cute yellow top or even a pair of yellow pants?

We all know florals are in. That means anything from white background to all color florals (pink, purple, blue, etc). We’ll see florals more in skirts and dresses than tops or anything else

Spring Beauty Tips : Lips

Make a statement this spring with bold lipstick colors. Think sour cherry and prune colors, but don’t overdo it on the eyes. If you have strong lips, make sure you just use a little mascara and maybe some eyeliner for definition.

Spring Beauty Tips : Cheeks

It’s all about looking natural, so apply a rose-colored blush. But of course, make sure you use whatever color blush your skin tone will match with, as long as it is a natural shade that will complement your complexion

Using the Right Kind of Blush
Using the right kind of blush can be a confusing experience since there are thousands of products out there aimed at making you look “better”. Follow these tips on how to use the right kind of blush for your skin tone.
Fair Skin
If you’ve got fair skin, you know that you can only experiment with so many things, usually lighter shades of makeup. Choose a peach blush that will give you just the right amount of rosy tint. Apply it sparingly to the apples of your cheeks, your forehead, nose, and chin. Just make sure you don’t put too much on, or it’ll end up looking fake.
Olive Skin
Girls with olive skin are a little bit luckier because they can get away with darker, more dramatic shades. So you can use darker blushes, such as bronzers, and dark peach tones. Try Ultima Nourishing Blush Stick in Berry.
Dark Skin
For dark skin, use a red hued blush or bronzer as it will give you a really nice glow. Swipe the blush brush on the apples of your cheeks, and a little bit to your forehead and chin. Try JA Blush Duo for Dark Complexion with brush.

Spring Beauty Tips: Eyes

As always, don’t throw out your black eyeliner just yet. The smoky eye will also be very popular this spring with well contoured eyebrows. Try something new and match your eyeliner to your outfit. For a new twist on the smoky eye, blend black eyeshadow with green, brown or purple. And don’t forget those thick eyelashes! • How 2 Get Smoky Eyes: Smoky eyes are perfect anywhere, anytime because the makeup is not overdone, and it adds a little bit of mystery and allure to your look. Here’s how to get this incredibly smoky look. First off, you will need a few tools. Opt for a darker eyeshadow such as a chocolate brown, charcoal or bronze. You’ll also need a flat eyeliner brush and a cotton swab. Begin the process by applying a nude eyeshadow over your entire lid. This will put your makeup in place, so that you don’t get any smudges or creases. Dip the edge of your eyeliner brush into the dark eye shadow. Tap off the excess powder. Gently, press the tip of the liner brush into the base of your upper lashes. Repeat again along the length of your eyelashes. Add more shadow if needed. With the cotton swab, gently smudge the liner upwards as if to blend it with the neutral shadow. Finish off by applying two thick coats of black mascara to your top and bottom lashes.

Spring Beauty Tips: Hairs

if you have long hair, opt for natural, loose waves. For shorter hair, high, glossy pony-tails are a must thing spring. To get super high shine, use a deep conditioner once a week as well as a hair mask. Also, it is imperative that you use a shampoo and conditioner that caters to your hair type. • Get Messy Hair For Straight Hair It is probably the easiest of all three because straight hair is more manageable.

Step 1
: Shampoo and apply a light conditioner; towel-dry your hair until it is damp.

Step 2
:With your left hand, pull smallish, arbitrary sections of hair approximately two inches in width, which you’ll then wrap around two of the fingers of your right hand. The index and middle fingers are probably easiest. Just think of your fingers as human hair rollers.

Step 3
:Apply a volumizing spray to each section after it’s rolled. Slide your fingers out and you’re ready for the next roll!

Step 4:Secure each section with a bobby pin for a tighter hold if you like, and allow the hair to set for about half an hour.

Beauty tips: Maximize Your Lashes

These days, there are tons of mascaras that promise you super long lashes, separation and thickness. Unfortunately, these products don’t work for most of the time. That’s why you need to adopt a good technique to get the most out of your lashes and maximize them to the fullest. So here is how to get the most out of your lashes:

Step 1: Use an eyelash curler to curl the base of your lashes first. Hold for 15 seconds. If you find that your lashes don’t curl as easily, heat your eyelashes curler with a blowdrier for a few seconds and try again.

Step 2: After you’ve curled the base, use your lash curler at the halfway point of your lashes. Hold for another 15 seconds.

Step 3: The final step involves curling your lashes at the tips to get the maximum lash curl. Hold for 15 seconds yet again and release.
Swipe on a lenghening mascara such as Lise Watier 24hrs Glam Mascara or Maybelline Stiletto.

Makeup Tips

Before applying any makeup, you should clean your face with water, which has a pinch of soda bicarbonate in it. Then apply ice cubes on the face. This enables the makeup to last longer.

Concealer is used to hide dark circles around the eyes, and is also used to cover blemishes and scars. A beige concealer is ideal for dark skins and one with natural tones for fairer skins. This should be spread evenly using a dry sponge or your fingers. Now, apply the foundation.

Foundation is used to enhance the color of the complexion. Three basic types may be used, depending upon your skin type. For dry skin, liquid foundation works best whereas semi-liquid is best for combination skins. Foundation can be applied with a sponge and blended into the hairline and along the jaw for a natural finish.

Translucent powder is used to dust the face. This helps that the foundation to stay on longer. Excess powder should be brushed off. Blusher should be blended evenly along the cheekbones.

Lips
The lips should be outlined with a lip liner so that the lipstick does not bleed. Lipstick is then applied and blended with the lip liner. Then dust your lips with powder so that the lipstick lasts for a longer period of time, and then apply the last coat.

Eyes
Eye shadow colors should be selected carefully, light shadow is applied on to the lids to create a base. Darker eye shadow is then used at the outer corners of the eyes, to enhance the eyes. A kajal or kohl stick can be used in the inner eyelid to make the eyes appear even more dramatic. Mascara applied to the lashes increases this effect. Eyebrows should be sharp and tidy and should be free of all traces of makeup.

Making Up Make-up has the power to put you in the mood for whatever lies ahead. It can help make you the person you want to be and put you more at ease and pleased with yourself.

Use make-up to show another side of your personality, possibly one you never knew you had. Sometimes glamorous, sometimes pretty, and sometimes natural …the choice is as wide as you want to make it. Believe in experimenting with colors: a new approach can create the most successful results.

If you do not know how to apply your make-up properly, even the most creative finished effect will look brash than beautiful. But if you spend time in front of the mirror practicing the ground rules and acquiring the tricks of the trade……………you will soon learn to have a perfect face-on.

Essential tools
You don’t need to spend a fortune on your equipment but having the proper tools really does make applying make-up much easier.
  1. Cotton wool: For removing make-up.
  2. Cotton buds: For removing and applying eye make-up.
  3. Tweezers: For shaping your brows.
  4. Eyelash curlers: For curling eyelashes.
  5. Make-up sponges: Using the right sponge will help applying foundation better without a streaky effect.
  6. Powder applicators: A soft puff is ideal to apply loose powder. brush off excess with a large dome shaped brush.
  7. Blusher brush: Use a soft ,wide brush to prevent harsh lines and a smaller brush for controlled blending.
  8. Eyeshadow brushes: Use a large brush for applying eyeshadow to the whole eye area and for blending, a medium one for the lids, and a small one for covering the socket line and applying highlighter.
  9. Brow brush: The two-in-one tool for brushing eyebrows into shape and combing out mascara from lashes.
  10. Lash separator: Used after mascara has been applied and allowed to dry, this brush separates lashes and prevents clogging.
  11. Lip brush: A firm-tipped lip brush gives you greater control over applying color than a conventional lipstick and also allows you to build up a deeper shade.
  12. Sharpener: For sharpening lip and eye pencils.
Special tips
Make-up that looks just fine in the sunshine can look faded and washed out under artificial lighting. Use warmer and deeper colors for the evenings.

If your face is too full, use a little blusher on the high part of the cheek, closer to the nose. Blend lightly across the too full area.

If your face is too slender, create an illusion of width. Place your blusher on the curve of the cheek, slightly away from the nose. Blend well, out and above to the temples.

If your face is square and heavy along the jaw line, soften the angles of the jawline by shadowing. Pat on blusher, then blend down across the square part.

A soft blending of rouge under the jaw line or chin takes away a heavy drooping effect .Your jaw line can look more clear-cut with this trick for the evening.

To accentuate the cheek bones for evening makeup, use a liquid foundation shade lighter than usual. Apply it in little dabs on the top of the cheek bones and on to the corners of the nose. Blend well.

To focus extra attention on eyes and mouth, circle the outer edge of the face very lightly with blusher .Blend with feathery strokes.

Powder blushers give you color without shine--- oily skins should avoid cream blushers.

Does your face look terribly oily halfway through the day? Your complexion can look and stay natural and soft all day if you try this trick:Take a blusher brush, clean it with cool water and allow to dry. Then sprinklesome baby powder into the open bristles. Dust this powder over your face before applying your foundation.

If your complexion is too sallow ,don’t be tempted by a clear beige or very pink foundation. Avoid yellow or green colors in make –up, these two colors bring out the sallow color of your skin. Go in for warm beige foundation and clear blue eyeshadow. Lipsticks are best in medium tones.

If your complexion is too pale, don’t use a pink foundation. Choose a clear natural foundation for a natural look. Avoid very dark eyeshadow and lipsticks. They would make you look too intense and tired. Go in for dull rust or brown eye shades. Use a soft blusher on cheeks, chin and forehead.

Never try to match eye shadow color to your eye color and lip color to nail color ---------- result will be too dated.

If you wear false eyelashes, make them look natural by brushing both the false and real lashes with a little mascara after putting them on.

To achieve a subtler look, instead of using eyeliner draw the thinnest possible line at the roots of the eyelashes with a soft dark brown eyeshadow.

In winter use pearly-gray and shell-beige eyeshadow. Avoid highlighters during the daytime, as they would look too harsh.

If your lips are too thin and straight, apply your lipstick from slightly above the line of the upper lip and slightly below the line of the lower lip. Curve the lines slightly with a lip pencil. Make your lips look fuller by using a darker and richer shade of lipstick in the center and a lighter one in the corners.

How to Use Foundation
The biggest mistake women make is choosing a foundation that's too light. This gives an unnatural, ashen look. Here are a couple of tips to practice when buying foundation.
  1. Test foundation on the inside of the forearm skin tone is closest to neck color there, because it's protected from UV damage. Makeup should blend with the skin color of the neck, not the face.
  2. If any doubt then buy one shade lighter than your facial skin tone.
  3. Don't make up your mind instantly. It takes about a minute for color to dry and interact with the chemicals in your skin. The red pigments develop first so it will appear the pinkest at the beginning.
  4. Then go to the nearest source of natural light. (Even the most flattering up lit cosmetics hall tends to have color distorting fluorescent lighting.) If you have chosen the right color, it will disappear into the skin.

Keep your hair off your face by tying it back or using a hair band or scarf. Cleanse and moisturize your face and neck. Wait at least five minutes for the moisturizer to be thoroughly absorbed into the skin. Sweep the sponge smoothly across the foundation. If you are using a cake foundation that needs to be applied with water, dampen a cosmetic sponge and squeeze out the excessive water. The more water you leave in the sponge the lighter the effect of the foundation will be; the drier the sponge, the heavier the effect will be. Using gentle, even strokes, cover the larger areas of your face first (the cheeks, forehead and T-Zone) following their natural contours.
Blend well under the jawline and down to the neck to create a natural effect and avoid a tide mark. Be careful not to apply too much around the hairline. Finally, check to make sure the face is smoothly and evenly covered. Check for any tide marks and merge them well.Use a concealor on any spots or blemishes. You'll see that your face glowing without a spot.

Simple Facial Exercises

If you want firmer facial skin, and want to look years younger just follow these ten exercises every morning and watch the age on your face fade away.

Face tapping - to get the circulation going
Tap 20 times on each dot with the pads of your middle fingers. From the bridge of your nose work out along your eyebrows, then in round the top of your cheekbone. Tap up from the sides of your mouth to each inner eye. Then out from the chin along the jaw line to each ear. Make sharp, light, very quick taps as if you are testing a very hot iron.

Ear massage - to get your face glowing
With index fingers and thumbs, hold the top rim of your ears and pull upwards. Massage, making small circles between fingers and thumb. Move down all round the rim of the ears, pulling ears out gently and massaging. When you reach the lobes, pull them down slightly and massage for about one minute. Repeat this sequence if you have time. Then, with small, quick circular movements, massage all the crevices and spirals of the ear. Use the surface of the nails of your index fingers, or the pads of your middle fingers.

Throat massage - to beautify your neck
Put the fingers of one hand on one side of your throat and the thumb on the other. Make rapid circular motions up and down the throat. Repeat with the other hand.

Gum stimulation - for glowing gums
With finger tips of knuckles, make circles just above the jaw line along the gums.

Under-chin slaps - to sharpen your jaw line
Slap quickly and lightly under your chin 30 times with the back of one hand.

Hair massage - to stimulate hair growth and soothe headaches
With pads of your fingertips, massage in small circles all along the front of your scalp for at least 30 seconds. Then take large fistfuls of hair and gently pull upwards. Now clench your hands into fists and lightly pound your scalp about 20 times.

Face Stroking - to soothe, relax and generally uplift face and mind
Start with the flat of your right hand against your chest and stroke up to your jaw line, then immediately follow with your left. Continue alternating like this for at least ten strokes.

Next, immediately smooth the palms and fingers of your hands over your face very, very lightly. Start at the jaw line, move up and over your cheeks and each side of your nostrils, gently over the eyes and over the forehead to the hairline, then back down the sides of your face to your jaw. Repeat five to ten times in a continuous motion.

Now glide your middle fingers towards the bridge of your nose, out along your eyebrow, down your cheekbones and back to the bridge of your nose. Make ten of these light circular movements.

Then with your middle fingers on the bridge of your nose, stroke up towards your forehead. Place all fingers (not thumb) on your forehead and smooth outwards towards your temples; hold for a moment, pressing down slightly. Continue lightly down the side of your face, back along up from the bridge of your nose. Do this ten times.

Temple pressures - to lift eye area and whole face.
Leaning back in a chair, place the base of your palm or the pads of your fingertips against your temples and push upwards. At the same time, suck your tongue against the top of your mouth keeping your back teeth together. Hold this for a count of ten, increasing to 20. Slowly release and relax.

Exercise your mouth - to lift lip lines
Sit or stand, looking into the mirror. Open your mouth quite wide, as if about to yawn. Pull in the sides to form an oval. Now curve your lips over teeth. Then slowly to the count of ten, close your lips until they are about 1.5cm (1/2in) apart. You will feel an upward pull. Release very slowly.

Finish by closing your eyes for a few moments, breathing deeply and gently and allowing yourself to drift off into a peaceful place.
